Dynamic Graph Regularization and Label Relaxation-Based Sparse Matrix Regression for Two-Dimensional Feature Selection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Sparse matrix regression (SMR) is a two-dimensional supervised feature selection method that can directly select the features on matrix data. It uses several couples of left and right regression vectors for each classifier and integrates them in ...

Choosing classes for size projection matrix models

open access: yes, 2010
Projection matrix models are intensely used in ecology to model the dynamics of structured populations. When dealing with size-structured populations, there is no satisfactory algorithm to partition size into discrete classes. We show that the Vandermeer-

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Transition matrix between Leamer classes.

open access: yes, 2012
For each pair of classes it is measured how often an appearance event of a product from class is observed followed by a disappearance of a product from class , compared to the opposite direction.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Computing the Permanent of the Laplacian Matrices of Nonbipartite Graphs

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
Let G be a graph with Laplacian matrix LG. Denote by per LG the permanent of LG. In this study, we investigate the problem of computing the permanent of the Laplacian matrix of nonbipartite graphs.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Characterizations of Matrix and Compact Operators on BK Spaces

open access: yesUniversal Journal of Mathematics and Applications, 2023
In the present paper, by estimating operator norms, we give some characterizations of infinite matrix classes $\left( \left\vert E_{\mu }^{r}\right\vert _{q},\Lambda\right) $ and $\left( \left\vert E_{\mu }^{r}\right\vert _{\infty },\Lambda\right ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
