Quantized nonnegative matrix factorization [PDF]

open access: yes2014 19th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing, 2014
Even though Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) in its original form performs rank reduction and signal compaction implicitly, it does not explicitly consider storage or transmission constraints. We propose a Frobenius-norm Quantized Nonnegative Matrix Factorization algorithm that is 1) almost as precise as traditional NMF for decomposition ranks of

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Generalized Separable Nonnegative Matrix Factorization

open access: yes, 2019
Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF) is a linear dimensionality technique for nonnegative data with applications such as image analysis, text mining, audio source separation and hyperspectral unmixing.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Discrete matrix factorization cross-modal hashing with multi-similarity consistency

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems, 2022
Recently, matrix factorization-based hashing has gained wide attention because of its strong subspace learning ability and high search efficiency. However, some problems need to be further addressed.

Robust Exponential Graph Regularization Non-Negative Matrix Factorization Technology for Feature Extraction

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Graph regularized non-negative matrix factorization (GNMF) is widely used in feature extraction. In the process of dimensionality reduction, GNMF can retain the internal manifold structure of data by adding a regularizer to non-negative matrix ...

Global matrix factorizations [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Research Letters, 2013
We study matrix factorization and curved module categories for Landau-Ginzburg models (X,W) with X a smooth variety, extending parts of the work of Dyckerhoff. Following Positselski, we equip these categories with model category structures. Using results of Rouquier and Orlov, we identify compact generators.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A Probabilistic Model for the Cold-Start Problem in Rating Prediction using Click Data

open access: yes, 2018
One of the most efficient methods in collaborative filtering is matrix factorization, which finds the latent vector representations of users and items based on the ratings of users to items.
