Matrix Metalloproteinase 9 Exerts Antiviral Activity against Respiratory Syncytial Virus. [PDF]
Increased lung levels of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9) are frequently observed during respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection and elevated MMP9 concentrations are associated with severe disease.

Pyrone-based inhibitors of metalloproteinase types 2 and 3 may work as conformation-selective inhibitors. [PDF]
Matrix metalloproteinases are zinc-containing enzymes capable of degrading all components of the extracellular matrix. Owing to their role in human disease, matrix metalloproteinase have been the subject of extensive study.

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Lipoprotein docosapentaenoic acid is associated with serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 concentration [PDF]
Background Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are thought to play important roles in inflammation. The n-3 series is considered as anti-inflammatory, and some studies have reported increased plasma n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid pattern in chronic ...

Increased Plasma Matrix Metalloproteinase‐9 Levels in Migraineurs [PDF]
Background and Objective.— Cortical spreading depression and neurogenic inflammation have been hypothesized to be key steps in the development of migraine headache. Recent studies have highlighted matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9) in cortical spreading depression, neurogenic inflammation, and cerebral ischemia.

Expression of matrix metalloproteinases 9 and 12 in actinic cheilitis [PDF]
To investigate the role of matrix-degrading metalloproteinases 9, 12 (MMPs), as mediators of functional connective tissue damage in actinic cheilitis.Thirty five formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded specimens of actinic cheilitis, and twelve specimens of normal lower lip vermillion, which were obtained by the archives of the Department of Oral Medicine ...
