A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Inhibition of Glutamine Metabolism Attenuates Tumor Progression Through Remodeling of the Macrophage Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The prodrug strategy used in this study offers new promise for cancer metabolism‐based therapies. JHU083, a prodrug that, when cleaved by protease in the tumor microenvironment, yields the glutamine antagonist DON. JHU083 inhibits tumor growth by targeting glutamine‐addicted cancer cells and suppressing glutamine‐dependent M2 macrophages, leading to a ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

The maximum principle for equations with composite coefficients

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2000
It is well-known that the maximum of the solution of a linear elliptic equation can be estimated in terms of the boundary data provided the coefficient of the gradient term is either integrable to an appropriate power or blows up like a small negative ...

On an Objective Basis for the Maximum Entropy Principle

open access: yesEntropy, 2015
In this letter, we elaborate on some of the issues raised by a recent paper by Neapolitan and Jiang concerning the maximum entropy (ME) principle and alternative principles for estimating probabilities consistent with known, measured constraint ...

A Case‐Based Reasoning Approach to Model Manufacturing Constraints for Impact Extrusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid modeling approach is presented that combines constraint‐based process modeling and case‐based reasoning. The model formalizes manufacturing constraints and integrates simulation data to model complex manufacturing processes. The approach supports manufacturability analysis during product design through an adaptive modeling environment.

Simulation of Inhomogeneous Refractive Index Fields Induced by Hot Tailored Forming Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a simulation model for simulating inhomogeneous refractive index fields (IRIF) in hot‐forged components, accounting for thermal influences and complex geometries. Through this simulation, a priori knowledge about the propagation of the IRIF can be obtained, allowing for the positioning of the component or an optical measurement ...

The strong maximum principle for Schrödinger operators on fractals

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2019
We prove a strong maximum principle for Schrödinger operators defined on a class of postcritically finite fractal sets and their blowups without boundary.

Optimizing a vehicle trans-atmospheric motion using Pontryagin’s maximum principle

open access: yesВестник Самарского университета: Аэрокосмическая техника, технологии и машиностроение, 2018
The task of optimizing trans-atmospheric motion of a flight vehicle in order to maximize its final velocity with prescribed finite values of the height and flight path angle is considered.
