Research on key influencing factors of scrap tire-soil retaining wall
The emergence of STSW can reduce the amount of materials such as sand and gravel and improve its performance compared to conventional retaining walls. In order to investigate the key influencing factors of STSW, the compression modulus of Scrap tire-soil

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Maximum shear modulus evaluation based on continuous wavelet transform of bender element test
AbstractMaximum shear modulus (Gmax) is a crucial parameter in the prediction of ground deformation and performance of seismic design. Practically, theGmaxparameter could be obtained from specific laboratory test or seismic field test. Bender element (BE) test is nondestructive laboratory test, which is simple yet reliable method in determiningGmaxof ...

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Iosipesco shear resistance in composites of carbon and glass fiber with epoxi resin [PDF]
The main aim of the present work was the determination of the shear modulus (G12) and the maximum shear strength (ô12) using the Iosipescu Shear Test. Tests were carried out on two types of composites, carbon fiber/epoxy and glass fiber/epoxy, used in ...

Shear Modulus and Damping Ratio of Gravel Material
Two of the most important parameters in dynamic analysis involving soils are the dynamic shear modulus and the damping ratio. In this study, a series of tests were performed on gravels.

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...
