Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Diffusivity and configurational entropy maxima in short range attractive colloids

open access: yes, 2004
We study tagged particle diffusion at large packing fractions, for a model of particles interacting with a generalized Lennard-Jones 2n-n potential, with large n. The resulting short-range potential mimics interactions in colloidal systems.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

An improved method for obtaining a normalized junction temperature for semiconductors: A concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Failure rate for given semiconductor device is simply determined by reading value of normalized junction temperature from printout for any given combination of ambient temperature, stress ratio, and maximum rated junction temperature, and obtaining ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Anfis Based Reference Evapotranspiration (ET0) Estimation Using Limited and Different Climate Parameters

open access: yesISPEC Journal of Agricultural Sciences
This study aims to estimate the reference evapotranspiration (ET0) with adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The calculation of ET0 requires climate data such as maximum and minimum temperature, wind speed, sunshine duration and humidity ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Super-Eddington accretion disc around a Kerr black hole [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We calculate the structure of accretion disc around a rapidly rotating black hole with a super-Eddington accretion rate. The luminosity and height of the disc are reduced by the advection effect.
