Tks5 localized with bundled actin in MDCK cells.

open access: yes, 2015
A: Western blot of lysates of Tks5-EGFP-MDCK cells and untransfected MDCK cells probed with anti-Tks5 (top panels) and α-tubulin (bottom panels) antibodies. Arrows indicate bands of Tks5-EGFP and Tks5 isoforms.

Determination of the selective index of ATA in MDCK cells.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Cytotoxicity of ATA in MDCK cells. MDCK cells were treated with ATA for 48 h at the indicated ATA concentrations (µg/ml). Cell viability was determined by neutral red assay by measuring the absorbance at 540 nm.

Mesenchymal Stromal Cells Accelerate Epithelial Tight Junction Assembly via the AMP-Activated Protein Kinase Pathway, Independently of Liver Kinase B1

open access: yesStem Cells International, 2017
Background. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) are fibroblast-like multipotent cells capable of tissue-repair properties. Given the essentiality of tight junctions (TJ) in epithelial integrity, we hypothesized that MSC modulate TJ formation, via the AMP ...

Binding of the Alex 488-labeled prototoxin to MDCK cells.

open access: yes, 2013
The left bar shows fluorescence for a negative control sample using MDCK cells lysed with RIPA buffer but not treated with labeled prototoxin. Another control shown included fluorescence for MDCK cells treated only with labeled prototoxin binding (no C ...

USP1 inhibits influenza A and B virus replication in MDCK cells by mediating RIG-I deubiquitination

open access: yesCellular and Molecular Life Sciences
The post-translational modification and stability regulation of RIG-I play critical roles in promoting IFN-I production and maintaining immune homeostasis.

A Preclinical Model to Assess Intestinal Barrier Integrity Using Canine Enteroids and Colonoids

open access: yesBiology
While two-dimensional (2D) cell cultures, such as Caco-2 and Madin–Darby canine kidney (MDCK) cells are widely used in a variety of biological models, these two-dimensional in vitro systems present inherent limitations in replicating the complexities of ...

Sialidases increase cytotoxicity for MDCK cells.

open access: yes, 2013
Panel A, percent of dead MDCK cells after treatment at 37°C for 1 h with 5 µg/ml ETX, 5 µg/ml pETX, 0.005 U/ml NanI sialidase or a mixture of 5 µg/ml ETX and 0.005 U/ml NanI sialidase, Panel B, percent of dead MDCK cells after the cells were treated for ...

The Screening and Mechanism of Influenza-Virus Sensitive MDCK Cell Lines for Influenza Vaccine Production

open access: yesDiseases
Influenza is a potentially fatal acute respiratory viral disease caused by the influenza virus. Influenza viruses vary in antigenicity and spread rapidly, resulting in seasonal epidemics.

Replication kinetics of recombinant viruses in MDCK-SIAT1.

open access: yes, 2013
MDCK-SIAT1 cells were inoculated at a multiplicity of infection (MOI) of 0.001 PFU with the engineered viruses. Supernatants were harvested after at 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72 hours post infection and were titrated on MDCK-SIAT1 cells.
