A weighted error-minimizer parameter estimation technique for one-inflated positive Poisson distribution

open access: yesResults in Control and Optimization
An error-minimizing estimator is always preferred in model fittings. However, each error-minimizing estimator minimizes error differently. This paper combines four error-minimizing estimators, which are root mean-squared error, mean absolute error, root ...

An improved method for estimating dissolved oxygen in crab ponds based on Long Short-Term Memory [PDF]

open access: yes智慧农业, 2019
Dissolved oxygen (DO) is vital to aquaculture industry and affects the yield of aquaculture. Low DO in water can lead to death of crabs, therefore, it is important to measure DO accurately.

A new accuracy measure based on bounded relative error for time series forecasting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Many accuracy measures have been proposed in the past for time series forecasting comparisons. However, many of these measures suffer from one or more issues such as poor resistance to outliers and scale dependence.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

A novel bidirectional LSTM deep learning approach for COVID-19 forecasting

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
COVID-19 has resulted in significant morbidity and mortality globally. We develop a model that uses data from thirty days before a fixed time point to forecast the daily number of new COVID-19 cases fourteen days later in the early stages of the pandemic.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.
