Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Reliable H∞ filtering for discrete time-delay systems with randomly occurred nonlinearities via delay-partitioning method

open access: yes, 2011
The official published version can be found at the link below. In this paper, the reliable H∞ filtering problem is investigated for a class of uncertain discrete time-delay systems with randomly occurred nonlinearities (RONs) and sensor failures. RONs are

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

On the Limits of Greenwich Mean Time, or The Failure of a Modernist Revolution

open access: yes, 2014
On the Limits of Greenwich Mean Time, or The Failure of a Modernist Revolution From the introduction of World Standard Time in 1884 to Einstein’s theory of relativity, the nature and regulation of time was a highly contested issue in modernism, with ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Mean time to failure for periodic failure rate

open access: yes, 2009
The paper is concerned with the determination of the Mean Time To Failure (MTTF) in configurations where the failure rate is periodical. After solving two configurations exactly, we show that when the period of the failure rate oscillations is small with

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

A Probabilistic Approach for Threshold Reliability Structures with Three Different Types of Components

open access: yesMathematics
In the present work, we study threshold reliability systems consisting of three different kinds of independent components. Within these structures, the components belonging to the same type, share a common reliability and the same weight. The reliability

Neutrosophic Reliability Assessment of Hydroelectric Power Plant using Universal Generating Function Technique [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
The main objective of present study is to assess the reliability measures of a hydroelectric power plant under neutrosophic environment. There are several reliability evaluations like Markovian approach, Semi-Markovian approach, etc.
