Market differentiation potential of country-of-origin, quality and traceability labeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Product labeling has gained considerable attention recently, as a means to both provide product-specific information and reduce quality uncertainty faced by consumers, as well as from a regulatory point of view.

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Effects of non-chlorine antimicrobial agents on microbial diversity in yellow-feathered chickens during mixed precooling

open access: yesFood Science of Animal Resources
Given that chickens can easily become a culture medium for microbial growth and reproduction, the prevention and control of biological safety risks in chickens is important.

Plant-based meat analogues aggravated lipid accumulation by regulating lipid metabolism homeostasis in mice

open access: yesFood Science and Human Wellness
To determine the effects of plant-based meat analogues on the metabolic health and the possible mechanisms, mice were fed with a real pork diet (AP), a real beef diet (AB), a plant-based pork analogue diet (PP) and plant-based beef analogue diet (PB) for

Branding in the red meat sector - A conjoint study from Germany [PDF]

open access: yes
During the last years, low price products (e.g., private label) gain increasing market shares in the German meat market. Compared to other countries the share of branded meat from integrated production chains is very low and most fresh meat is sold ...

Carcass and meat quality of different pig genotypes in an organic extensive outdoor fatting system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Carcass, meat, and fat quality were evaluated of 37 castrates of 4 different genotypes [Pi*Du*GLR (10), Pi*AS (7), Du (10), Du*GLR (10)] kept on grass clover and fed with coarse meal made up of farm grown cereal and grain legumes without optimising the ...

Superionic Amorphous Li2ZrCl6 and Li2HfCl6

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous Li2HfCl6 and L2ZrCl6 are shown to be promising solid‐state electrolytes with predicted ionic conductivities >20 mS·cm−1. Molecular dynamics simulations with machine‐learning force fields reveal that anion vibrations and flexible MCl6 octahedra soften the Li coordination cage and enhance mobility. Correlation between Li‐ion diffusivity and the

Effect of Genotype, Gender, and Feed Restriction on Slaughter Results and Meat Quality of Broiler Chickens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Slaughter results and meat quality were evaluated in 768 broilers according to genotype (standard breast yield vs. high breast yield), gender, and feeding systems (ad libitum vs. feed restriction from 13 to 21 d of age).

Data‐Driven Discovery of Quaternary Ammonium Interlayers for Efficient and Thermally Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An active learning framework, grounded in independently generated in‐house experimental data, enables reliable discovery of high‐performance interfacial materials for perovskite solar cells. Iterative model refinement autonomously converges toward structurally robust quaternary ammonium architectures, establishing a new design principle for interfacial

Meat quality characteristics in Kıvırcık lambs

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF VETERINARY AND ANIMAL SCIENCES, 2014
Esme District in Usak Province has a special role in western Anatolia sheep husbandry due to its number of animals and large pastures. A genotype with the characteristics of the Kivircik breed has emerged and became common in the region in the last 20-30 years.
