Insights into pegRNA design from editing of the cardiomyopathy‐associated phospholamban R14del mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how prime editing guide RNA (pegRNA) secondary structure and reverse transcriptase template length affect prime editing efficiency in correcting the phospholamban R14del cardiomyopathy‐associated mutation. Insights support the design of structurally optimized enhanced pegRNAs for precise gene therapy.

Near-Field Thermal Radiative Transfer and Thermoacoustic Effects from Vapor Plumes Produced by Pulsed CO/sub 2 /Laser Ablation of Bulk Water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Submillimeter deep heating of bulk water by thermal radiation from ablative water plumes produced by a 10.6 μm transversely excited atmospheric C O2 laser and the related acoustic generation has been studied using a contact time-resolved photoacoustic ...

Single‐cell insights into the role of T cells in B‐cell malignancies

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell technologies have transformed our understanding of T cell–tumor cell interactions in B‐cell malignancies, revealing new T‐cell subsets, functional states, and immune evasion mechanisms. This Review synthesizes these findings, highlighting the roles of T cells in pathogenesis, progression, and therapy response, and underscoring their ...

Computational Analysis of Hybrid Norwood Circulation with Distal Aortic Arch Obstruction and Reverse Blalock-Taussig Shunt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
BACKGROUND: The hemodynamics characteristics of the hybrid Norwood (HN) procedure differ from those of the conventional Norwood and are not fully understood. We present a multi-scale model of HN circulation to understand local hemodynamics and effects of

Experimental verification on the robustness and stability of an interaction control: Single‐degree‐of‐freedom robot case

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2021
The nonlinear bang‐bang impact control (NBBIC) had been proposed for robots performing tasks having frequent contact with different environments because it takes advantage of the frictions in robot joints that are not helpful for constrained space ...

Photoacoustic Study of KrF Laser Heating of Si: Implications for Laser Particle Removal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A photoacoustic study of KrF laser heating of Si has revealed that the dominant mechanism of acoustic generation is thermoacoustic with a considerable contribution from the concentration-deformation mechanism at laser fluences below the Si melting ...

TRAF2 binds to TIFA via a novel motif and contributes to its autophagic degradation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
TRAF family members couple receptor signalling complexes to downstream outputs, but how they interact with these complexes is not always clear. Here, we show that during ADP‐heptose signalling, TRAF2 binding to TIFA requires two short sequence motifs in the C‐terminal tail of TIFA, which are distinct from the TRAF6 binding motif.

Parametric Generation of Multimegahertz Acoustic Oscillations in Laser-Generated Multibubble System in Bulk Water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Using a nanosecond C O2 laser for explosive surface boiling of bulk water, oscillatory acoustic transients from steam bubbles were recorded using a contact photoacoustic technique.
