Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Maintainability prediction for aircraft mechanical components utilising aircraft feedback information [PDF]
The aim of this research is to propose an alternative approach to determine the maintainability prediction for aircraft components. In this research, the author looks at certain areas of the maintainability prediction process where missteps or ...

The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

A study of the human ability to detect road surface type based on steering wheel vibration feedback [PDF]
A study was performed to investigate the human ability to detect road surface type based on the associated steering wheel vibration feedback. Tangential direction acceleration time histories measured during road testing of a single mid-sized European ...

Point-to-point control of a 2R planar horizontal underactuated manipulator [PDF]
This paper presents a control strategy for a two-link manipulator with revolute joints (2R) with an unactuated second joint, wherein the motion of the system is confined to a horizontal plane. The model takes into account the frictional forces present in

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Controllable branching of robust response patterns in nonlinear mechanical resonators
Feedback control applied to mechanical resonators can lead to the formation of various complex dynamic behaviors. Here the authors demonstrate flexible and controllable switching between dynamical structures in the response of harmonically driven micro ...
