Mechanical and metallurgical properties of two-layered diamalloy 4010 and 2002 HVOF coating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Diamalloy 4010, which is iron/molybdenum blend, is resistive to wear and Diamalloy 2002 is resistive to corrosion and wear. However, combination of these powders in layered structure, may offer advantages over the individual powders.

歯肉上皮細胞における機械的ストレスにより誘発されるpro-IL-1β産生のシグナル経路 [PDF]

open access: yes
大阪歯科大学Osaka Dental University博士(歯学)Objectives: Mechanical stress on the teeth and alveolar bone caused by bruxism, orthodontics, and implants affects the periodontal tissues, causing gingival recession and alveolar bone resorption, and entire body ...

Mechanical Stress Conditioning and Electrical Stimulation Promote Contractility and Force Maturation of Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Human Cardiac Tissue

open access: yesCirculation, 2016
Background: Tissue engineering enables the generation of functional human cardiac tissue with cells derived in vitro in combination with biocompatible materials. Human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes provide a cell source for cardiac

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Theoretical simulation of the infrared signature of mechanically stressed polymer solids

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
Mechanical stress leads to deformation of strands in polymer solids, including elongation of covalent bonds and widening of bond angles, which changes the infrared spectrum.

No stress please! Mechanisms of stress hyporesponsiveness of the maternal brain [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, 2008
The time around birth is accompanied by behavioural and physiological adaptations of the maternal brain, which ensure reproductive functions, maternal care and the survival of the offspring. In addition, profound neuroendocrine and neurobiological adaptations have been described with respect to behavioural and neuroendocrine stress responsiveness in ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
