Post‐LECA Origin and Diversification of an Axonemal Outer Arm Dynein Motor
ABSTRACT Dyneins were present in the last eukaryotic common ancestor (LECA) and play key roles in eukaryotic biology. Axonemal dyneins form the inner and outer arms that power ciliary beating, and it has long been recognized that outer arms in some organisms contain two different heavy chain motors, whereas those from other species contain a third unit

Waste Polystyrene Chain Scission With Ball Milling: Mass‐Dependent Kinetics and Energy‐Dose Analysis
Ball‐milling‐induced chain scission of real‐world polystyrene samples exhibits a systematic dependence on polymer mass when particle size is controlled. Scission rate constants follow power‐law scaling, and molecular weight evolution data collapse when analyzed by mechanical energy dose.

RNA polymerase interactions and elongation rate
We show that non-steric molecular interactions between RNA polymerase (RNAP) motors that move simultaneously on the same DNA track determine strongly the kinetics of transcription elongation.

High-resolution 27Al MAS NMR spectroscopic studies of the response of spinel aluminates to mechanical action [PDF]
The response of the local structure of various types of spinel aluminates, ZnAl2O4 (normal spinel), MgAl2O4 (partly inverse spinel), and Li0.5Al2.5O4 (fully inverse spinel), to mechanical action through high-energy milling is investigated by means of ...

Electrospray ion beam deposition (ES‐IBD) of an Fe(II) [2 × 2] grid complex onto Ag(111) reveals landing energy‐dependent fragmentation and self‐assembly. At higher landing energies, novel coordination networks emerge. This study highlights the unique potential of ES‐IBD in creating diverse metal–organic architectures on surfaces.

Structure and ion dynamics of mechanosynthesized oxides and fluorides [PDF]
In many cases, limitations in conventional synthesis routes hamper the accessibility to materials with properties that have been predicted by theory. For instance, metastable compounds with local non-equilibrium structures can hardly be accessed by solid-
