Mechlorethamine HCl and Cyclophosphamide in the Treatment of Hodgkin's Disease and the Lymphomas

JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1968
Eighty-six patients (37 with Hodgkin's disease, 37 with lymphosarcoma, and 12 with reticulum cell sarcoma) were randomized and treated with either a single dose of mechlorethamine hydrochloride (0.4 mg/kg of body weight, given intravenously) followed by daily maintenance with chlorambucil (given orally), or a loading dose of cyclophosphamide (40 mg/kg ...

Mono- and Di-Alkylation Processes of DNA Bases by Nitrogen Mustard Mechlorethamine.

ChemPhysChem, 2017
The reactivity of nitrogen mustard mechlorethamine (mec) with purine bases towards formation of mono- (G-mec and A-mec) and dialkylated (AA-mec, GG-mec and AG-mec) adducts has been studied using density functional theory (DFT).

Tumorigenic effect of topical mechlorethamine, BCNU and CCNU in mice

Experientia, 1980
Mice were painted with mechlorethamine (HN2), carmustine (BCNU) and lomustine (CCNU) for up to 33 weeks. HN2 was a potent carcinogen, producing squamous cell carcinomas in 9 of 33 mice in 1 series. BCNU was a weak carcinogen. CCNU produced no tumors in 1 series.

Reduction of Nitroarylmethyl Quaternary Ammonium Prodrugs of Mechlorethamine by Radiation

Radiation Research, 1998
Nitroarylmethyl quaternary ammonium nitrogen mustards are bioreductive drugs designed to release mechlorethamine, when reduced metabolically, via fragmentation of the initial nitro radical anion to a benzylic-type radical. This proposed mechanism (termed Type I) is analogous to the well-known reductive fragmentation of 2-nitrobenzyl halides.

Photo-triggered fluorescent theranostic prodrugs as DNA alkylating agents for mechlorethamine release and spatiotemporal monitoring.

Organic and biomolecular chemistry, 2015
We describe a new theranostic strategy for selective delivery and spatiotemporal monitoring of mechlorethamine, a DNA alkylating agent. A photo-responsive prodrug is designed and composed of a photolabile o-nitrophenylethyl group, a DNA alkylating ...

Mechlorethamine, vincristine, melphalan and prednisone (MOMP) for the treatment of relapsed lymphoma in dogs.

Veterinary and Comparative Oncology, 2015
Eighty-eight dogs with relapsed lymphoma were treated with the MOMP (mechlorethamine, vincristine, melphalan and prednisone) protocol on a 28-day treatment cycle.

PUVA therapy prevents sensitization to mechlorethamine in patients with psoriasis

British Journal of Dermatology, 1985
Two groups of 20 patients with psoriasis were treated with mechlorethamine applied topically (group A) or with PUVA combined with mechlorethamine (group B). In group B mechlorethamine was started after six PUVA treatments. Results showed a significant decrease of the incidence of contact dermatitis in group B (30%) compared with group A (75%). Allergic

Mechlorethamine Hydrochloride Solutions and Ointment

Archives of Dermatology, 1980
Solutions of mechlorethamine hydrochloride used to treat patients with mycosis fungoides and psoriasis are stable for many months, especially when they are refrigerated. This fact should make the use of this treatment more convenient. On the other hand, the risk of cancer induction from such use should be appreciated.
