Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Large size LYSO crystals for future high energy physics experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Because of their high stopping power and fast bright scintillation, cerium doped silicate based heavy crystal scintillators, such as GSO, LSO, and LYSO, have been developed for medical instruments.

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

3. Galileo

open access: yes, 1958
Of all the early proponents of the Copernican theory, Galileo was perhaps the most renowned and certainly one of the most effective. Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was educated in the classical, Aristotelian manner.

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.
