Tumor‐Intrinsic Forkhead Box A2 Regulates the Lymph Node Metastasis of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma by Regulating T‐Cell Apoptosis

open access: yesiLABMED, EarlyView.
We identified FOXA2 as a key regulator of lymph node metastasis in thyroid cancer, which controls cancer cell aggressiveness. FOXA2 knockdown promotes metastasis by enhancing tumor cell migration and, importantly, by inducing T‐cell apoptosis through a CCL2/LCN2‐mediated pathway. Created with BioGDP.com.

Histopathological and immunohistochemical features of thyroid carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Oncology, 2003
Thyroid-specific malignant tumors are derived from follicle cells (papillary and follicular carcinoma), and from parafollicular, calcitonin-producing C-cells (medullary carcinoma). The main criterion for diagnosis of papillary carcinoma is the occurrence

Lymph‐based liquid biopsy: Current progress and future potential

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Recent evidence under the revised Starling principle indicates that lymph‐based liquid biopsies may offer superior diagnostic performance over blood‐based counterparts in certain clinical scenarios, such as early‐stage solid tumor detection. Currently, various biomarkers within the lymphatic system show significant diagnostic potential for a range of ...

Recent Updates on the Management of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma

open access: yesEndocrinology and Metabolism, 2016
Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a rare neuroendocrine tumor derived from the thyroid C cells producing calcitonin. MTC accounts for 0.6% of all thyroid cancers and incidence of MTC increased steadily between 1997 and 2011 in Korea.
