LIN28A blocks the EndMT process of high glucose‐induced HRMECs by stabilizing SIRT6 mRNA

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
LIN28A promotes mRNA stability of SIRT6 to activate the AMPK signaling, thereby inhibiting the EndMT process induced by HG in HRMECs. ABSTRACT Background Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a microvascular condition resulting from microangiopathy, causing gradual retinal damage and potential blindness.

Reducing Medication‐Related Harm Through Home‐Based Primary Care

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
This figure illustrates teaching strategies for the five domains of geriatric care, represented as the “5 M's”: Medication, Mentation, Mobility, Multi‐Complexity, and Matters Most. For each domain, Ms. T's clinical problems are listed with corresponding interventions.

Salt glands in exo‐recretohalophytes: Development, physiological functions, and prospects for improving crop salt tolerance

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review examines salt glands in exo‐recretohalophytes, in which epidermal stem cells differentiate into unicellular, bicellular, or multicellular salt glands. Salt ions are transported to the leaves via the transpiration stream and enter salt glands through symplastic and apoplastic pathways. Finally, salt glands actively secrete salt ions from the

Systemic, Lifestyle and Environmental Modifying Factors in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.

The Role of Oxidative Stress in Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Oxidative stress is involved in multiple chemical reactions that take place in different intracellular organelles: mitochondria, rough endoplasmic reticulum, peroxisomes, autophagy, and aging, and can be influenced by exogenous factors: nutrition, physical activity, psychological status, environmental conditions, microbiome, and drugs.

The Ecology of Human Sleep (EcoSleep) Cohort Study: Protocol for a longitudinal repeated measurement burst design study to assess the relationship between sleep determinants and outcomes under real‐world conditions across time of year

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary The interplay of daily life factors, including mood, physical activity, or light exposure, influences sleep architecture and quality. Laboratory‐based studies often isolate these determinants to establish causality, thereby sacrificing ecological validity.
