Abstract Indigenous Peoples are gaining renewed attention within both policy and academia, as examples of “resilience” and of non‐humanist, non‐modern ways of relating to nature, which might, it is hoped, provide tools to withstand the socio‐ecological crises associated with “the Anthropocene”.

The persistence and expansion of sharecropping in a Javanese village
Abstract In the Javanese village of Kaliloro, share tenancy in rice cultivation, which was widely predicted to disappear with the Green Revolution, has not declined but expanded since the early 1970s. In this article, building on previous debates on share tenancy, we show how sharecropping has survived and expanded in Kaliloro's generally commoditized ...

Summary Plant‐specific WUSCHEL‐related homeobox (Wox) transcription factors (TFs) are crucial for plant growth and development. However, the molecular mechanism of Wox‐mediated regulation of thousand kernel weight (TKW) in crops remains elusive. In this research, we identified a major TKW‐associated quantitative trait locus (QTL) on wheat chromosome ...

Collapse of Telechelic Star Polymers to Water-Melon Structures [PDF]
Conformational properties of star-shaped polymer aggregates that carry attractive end-groups, called telechelic star polymers, are investigated by simulation and analytical variational theory. We focus on the case of low telechelic star polymer functionalities, $f \leq 5$, a condition which allows aggregation of all attractive monomers on one site.

CmPPR4 gene controls drought resilience in melon ecotypes
Summary Global climate change has rendered drought stress an increasing threat to sustainable crop production. Melon (Cucumis melo) crop is widely cultivated worldwide, and has been classified into two subspecies C. melo ssp. melo and C. melo ssp. agrestis with greater drought tolerance variation.

Plant genetic transformation: achievements, current status and future prospects
Summary Regeneration represents a fundamental biological process wherein an organism's tissues or organs repair and replace themselves following damage or environmental stress. In plant systems, injured tree branches can regenerate adventitious buds and develop new crowns through propagation techniques like cuttings and canopy pruning, while transgenic

MELON: Indirect Prompt Injection Defense via Masked Re-execution and Tool Comparison [PDF]
Recent research has explored that LLM agents are vulnerable to indirect prompt injection (IPI) attacks, where malicious tasks embedded in tool-retrieved information can redirect the agent to take unauthorized actions. Existing defenses against IPI have significant limitations: either require essential model training resources, lack effectiveness ...
