Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Numerical Study of Effect of Thermocapillary Convection on Melting Process of Phase Change Material subjected to Local Heating

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2013
We numerically investigate the effect of thermocapillary convection on melting and deforming processes of Phase Change Material (PCM) subjected to local heating. Mass, momentum and energy conservation equations are solved in a 2-D system based on a fixed

Recrystallization and Melting of Partially Melted Stark Rubber

open access: yesRubber Chemistry and Technology, 1967
Abstract Two specimens from a piece of stark rubber which had a melting temperature originally at 41° C were partially melted at 38° C and allowed to stand for 11 years, one at about 25° C, the other at 38° C. The first showed a continuous slow decrease in specific volume, while the second increased slowly in volume for 5 months and remained ...

Melting-solidification process in Pb-Bi melts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2007
Electrical conductivity, σ(T), of liquid Pb-Bi alloys of eutectic and near eutectic compositions was investigated in the "melting-solidification" temperature region. The revealed discrepancies between the heating and cooling σ(T) curves as well as a hysteresis observed in course of heating-cooling cycles suggest a metastable microheterogeneous ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Critical Melting–Freezing Pretreatment Enhances Enzymatic Hydrolysis for Porous Starch Preparation: Role of Partial Structural Weakening and Surface Modification

open access: yesFoods
In this study, critical melting followed by freeze–thaw (CMFT) pretreatment was employed as an effective strategy to partially weaken and modify the surface structure of starch, enhancing enzymatic hydrolysis (EH) for porous starch preparation.

Enhancement of the Melting of an Ice Cylinder by the Combination with the Condensation of a Saturated Steam Flow

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2011
Melting of an ice by a steam is sometimes employed, for example, to remove a frost, an ice, and a snow that adhered to the structure surface. It is usually regarded that the melting performance by steam is naturally higher than that by high-temperature ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
