Melting-solidification process in Pb-Bi melts [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2007
Electrical conductivity, σ(T), of liquid Pb-Bi alloys of eutectic and near eutectic compositions was investigated in the "melting-solidification" temperature region. The revealed discrepancies between the heating and cooling σ(T) curves as well as a hysteresis observed in course of heating-cooling cycles suggest a metastable microheterogeneous ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The onset of non-Newtonian rheology of silicate melts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The viscoelastic behavior of silicate melts has been measured for a range of compositions (NaAlSi3O8, NaCaAlSi2O7, CaMgSi2O6, Li2Si4O9, Na2Si4O9, K2Si4O9, Na2Si3O7, K2Si3O7 and Na2Si2O5) using the fiber elongation method.

Recent Development in the Investigation on Thermal Conductivity of Silicate Melts

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2012
Accurate values of thermal conductivity of the silicate melts systematically measured as a function of chemical composition are necessary to understand a mechanism of heat transfer in the silicate melts.

Chlorine solubility in evolved alkaline magmas

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2005
Experimental studies of Cl solubility in trachytic to phonolitic melts provide insights into the capacity of alkaline magmas to transport Cl from depth to the earth?s surface and atmosphere, and information on Cl solubility variations with ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Determination of equilibrium state and Sn redox ratio in aluminoborosilicate glass melts by potentiometry and voltammetry

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2019
Over the last three decades many studies have reported the investigation of the redox behaviour of multivalent elements (M) in glass melts by voltammetry.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

PetThermoTools: a fast, flexible, and accessible Python3 package for performing thermodynamic calculations

open access: yesVolcanica
We present PetThermoTools: an open-source Python3 tool for performing thermodynamic simulations of mantle and magmatic processes. Thermodynamic modeling forms a central component to many research projects in igneous petrology.
