Outer Membrane Vesicles

EcoSal Plus, 2005
Outer membrane vesicles (blebs) are produced by Escherichia coli , Salmonella , and all other gram-negative bacteria both in vitro and in vivo. Most of the research in the field has focused on the properties of vesicles derived from pathogenic bacteria and their interactions with eukaryotic ...

Use of plasma membrane vesicles

American Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1980
A summary of current methodologies employed to obtain and characterize epithelial plasma membrane vesicles is presented. Particular emphasis is placed on techniques to evaluate such parameters as homogeneity, tightness, orientation, and the percentage of active vesicles in a given vesicular population.

Sedimentation studies on membrane vesicles

Molecular Biology Reports, 1976
Analytical centrifugation was used in order to investigate the size distribution of vesicles in various membrane preparations. Under certain conditions depending among others on the speed of rotation and the temperature, a sedimentation profile was observed that was characteristic for membraneous material.
