Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

The effect of the spacing of background elements upon optomotor memory responses in the crab: the influence of adding or deleting features during darkness [PDF]
1. Study was made of the effect of separation between stripes in the visual field upon responses which indicate memory of those stripes. 2. The amount of separation between white stripes had very little effect, whereas response strength and the amount of

The effect of Midazolam and Propranolol on fear memory reconsolidation in ethanol-withdrawn rats: Influence of D-cycloserine [PDF]
Background: Withdrawal from chronic ethanol facilitates the formation of contextual fear memory and delays the onset to extinction, with its retrieval promoting an increase in ethanol consumption.

Subsequent memory effects in schizophrenia [PDF]
Differential neural activation at encoding can predict which stimuli will be subsequently remembered or forgotten, and memory deficits are pronounced in schizophrenia. We used event-related functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate subsequent memory (SM) effects for visual fractals in patients with schizophrenia (n=26) and healthy ...

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Attachment-related expectations and mother-referent memory bias in middle childhood [PDF]
Understanding the cognitive processing of attachment-relevant information has become a major focus of attachment research. Previous research demonstrated links between attachment and memory for attachment-related information, but results were ...

Spacing effects in picture memory [PDF]
Three experiments were conducted to capitalize on the conclusion of Shaffer and Shiffrin (1972) that complex visual scenes are not rehearsed in testing the hypothesis that the effect of spacing on memory is due to rehearsal. In Experiment I, a list of vacation slides was presented in which both the number of repetitions and the spacing of repetitions ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Polarization memory in the nonpolar magnetic ground state of multiferroic CuFeO2
We investigate polarization memory effects in single-crystal CuFeO2, which has a magnetically-induced ferroelectric phase at low temperatures and applied B fields between 7.5 and 13 T.
