Drug metabolism studies in vitro were carried out inexpensively and readily to serve as an adequate mechanism to characterize drug metabolites, elucidate their pathways, and make suggestions for further testing in vivo. In this work, the comparative metabolism of mequindox (MEQ) was investigated in vitro by incubation with chicken liver microsomes ...

High doses of mequindox (MEQ) are associated with oxidative stress and pathological toxicity in the kidney. In this study, we demonstrated long term effects of MEQ on intra- or extra-adrenal renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) in vivo. RAAS plays a major role in aldosterone secretion.

Spectroscopic Studies on the Binding of Bacteriophage Mequindox with Bovine Serum Albumin
Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 2009AbstractFluorescence spectra and UV‐Vis absorption spectra have been used to study the binding of bacteriophage mequindox (MEQ) with bovine serum albumin (BSA), which performed a dynamic quenching process. The quenching constants and thermodynamic parameters at different temperatures were calculated.

Mequindox (MEQ) is a synthetic quinoxaline 1,4-dioxides (QdNOs) derivative which can effectively improve growth and feed efficiency in animals. This study was to investigate the dose-dependent long-term toxicity in the adrenal of male rats exposed to 180 days of MEQ feed.

In the current work, we report a combined experimental and theoretical study on the molecular conformation, vibrational spectra, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of mequindox (MEQ) and 1,4-bisdesoxymequindox (1,4-BDM). The geometric structure and vibrational frequencies of MEQ and 1,4-BDM have been calculated by density functional theory ...
