Simulation Analysis of Meshing Characteristic for Cycloid Meshing Drive of RV Reducer

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
The cycloid pin wheel drive is essential to RV reducer. It is the basic point to determine the contact stiffness of cycloid and pin wheel. The equivalent contact stiffness is calculated based on Hertz contact theory.

Adaptive mesh refinement for characteristic codes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computational Physics, 2004
The use of adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) techniques is crucial for accurate and efficient simulation of higher dimensional spacetimes. In this work we develop an adaptive algorithm tailored to the integration of finite difference discretizations of wave-like equations using characteristic coordinates.

Analysis of SDFEM on Shishkin Triangular Meshes and Hybrid Meshes for Problems with Characteristic Layers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Computing, 2016
In this paper, we analyze the streamline diffusion finite element method (SDFEM) for a model singularly perturbed convection-diffusion equation on a Shishkin triangular mesh and hybrid meshes. Supercloseness property of $u^I-u^N$ is obtained, where $u^I$ is the interpolant of the solution $u$ and $u^N$ is the SDFEM's solution.

Experimental study of the characteristics of a novel mesh suture [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Surgery, 2015
Abstract Background The failure of sutures to maintain tissue in apposition is well characterized in hernia repairs. A mesh suture designed to facilitate tissue integration into and around the filaments may improve tissue hold and decrease suture pull-through.

Adaptive mesh refinement for characteristic grids [PDF]

open access: yesGeneral Relativity and Gravitation, 2010
I consider techniques for Berger-Oliger adaptive mesh refinement (AMR) when numerically solving partial differential equations with wave-like solutions, using characteristic (double-null) grids. Such AMR algorithms are naturally recursive, and the best-known past Berger-Oliger characteristic AMR algorithm, that of Pretorius & Lehner (J. Comp. Phys.

Fixed mesh refinement in the characteristic formulation of general relativity [PDF]

open access: yesGeneral Relativity and Gravitation, 2017
We implement a spatially fixed mesh refinement under spherical symmetry for the characteristic formulation of General Relativity. The Courant-Friedrich-Levy (CFL) condition lets us deploy an adaptive resolution in (retarded-like) time, even for the nonlinear regime.

Design and optimization of fuel injection of a 50 kW micro turbogas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The present article deals with the design of a micro turbogas turbine suitable for on board applications, e.g., as a power generator on hybrid transit bus, characterized by a simple constructive approach.

Shape optimization of phononic band gap structures using the homogenization approach

open access: yes, 2017
The paper deals with optimization of the acoustic band gaps computed using the homogenized model of strongly heterogeneous elastic composite which is constituted by soft inclusions periodically distributed in stiff elastic matrix.

Thermal Optimization of Injection Molds Produced by Layered Manufacturing Techniques [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Producing injection tooling with cooling channels of almost any form seems to be one of the most promising advantages of Layered Manufacturing Techniques (like Selective Laser Sintering). It could be efficiently exploited to achieve higher productivity
