Numerical simulation of three-phase flow in an external gear pump using immersed boundary approach [PDF]
This paper presents a three-phase fully compressible model applied along with an immersed boundary model for predicting cavitation occurring in a two dimensional gear pump in the presence of non-condensable gas (NCG).

Meshing theory of axial arc tooth profile cylindrical worm drive
In this paper, the axial arc tooth profile cylindrical worm drive is proposed, whose worm is cut by turning tool. Due to the simple processing equipment, short manufacturing time and low cost, this kind of worm can replace the cylindrical worm ground by ...

On the mesh nonsingularity of the moving mesh PDE method [PDF]
The moving mesh PDE (MMPDE) method for variational mesh generation and adaptation is studied theoretically at the discrete level, in particular the nonsingularity of the obtained meshes.

Pitting damage levels estimation for planetary gear sets based on model simulation and grey relational analysis [PDF]
The planetary gearbox is a critical mechanism in helicopter transmission systems. Tooth failures in planetary gear sets will cause great risk to helicopter operations.

Segmenting a surface mesh into pants using Morse theory [PDF]
A pair of pants is a genus zero orientable surface with three boundary components. A pants decomposition of a surface is a finite collection of unordered pairwise disjoint simple closed curves embedded in the surface that decompose the surface into pants.

Theory of hydrodynamic phenomena in optical mesh lattices
Signatures of superfluid-like behaviour have recently been observed experimentally in a nonlinear optical mesh lattice, where the arrival time of optical pulses propagating in a pair of coupled optical fiber loops is interpreted as a synthetic spatial dimension. Here, we develop a general theory of the fluid of light in such optical mesh lattices.
