Theory of hydrodynamic phenomena in optical mesh lattices [PDF]

open access: hybridPhysical Review A, 2023
Signatures of superfluid-like behaviour have recently been observed experimentally in a nonlinear optical mesh lattice, where the arrival time of optical pulses propagating in a pair of coupled optical fiber loops is interpreted as a synthetic spatial dimension. Here, we develop a general theory of the fluid of light in such optical mesh lattices.

Segmenting a Surface Mesh into Pants Using Morse Theory [PDF]

open access: greenGraphical Models, 2016
A pair of pants is a genus zero orientable surface with three boundary components. A pants decomposition of a surface is a finite collection of unordered pairwise disjoint simple closed curves embedded in the surface that decompose the surface into pants.

A compression strategy for particle mesh Ewald theory

open access: greenThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2021
Particle Mesh Ewald (PME) has become a standard method for treating long-range electrostatics in molecular simulations. Although the method has inferior asymptotic computational complexity to its linear scaling competitors, it remains enormously popular due to its high efficiency, which stems from the use of fast Fourier transforms (FFTs).

Mismatched ZN-type worm pair meshing theory

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering
Cylindrical worms are sensitive to errors; mismatch can solve this problem. However, applying the finite element method to calculate the meshing characteristics of mismatched worm pairs has several limitations. Therefore, the meshing theory of mismatched

A Continuum Theory for Unstructured Mesh Generation in Two Dimensions [PDF]

open access: greenComputer Aided Geometric Design, 2006
A continuum description of unstructured meshes in two dimensions, both for planar and curved surface domains, is proposed. The meshes described are those which, in the limit of an increasingly finer mesh (smaller cells), and away from irregular vertices, have ideally-shaped cells (squares or equilateral triangles), and can therefore be completely ...

Design and Analysis of Internal–External Composite Meshing Hy-Vo Chain

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The internal–external composite meshing mechanism should be the best way to improve the transmission performance of a silent chain drive, but there is no internal–external composite meshing Hy-Vo chain under the classical design approach.

Study on the Nonlinear Dynamic Behavior of Rattling Vibration in Gear Systems

open access: yesMachines, 2022
To reveal the nonlinear dynamic behavior of gear rattling vibration caused by gear backlash, a 2-DOF oscillator model with spring and damping elements was established. Based on the theory of discontinuous dynamical systems, the phase plane of gear motion

Research on the sliding friction associated spur-face gear meshing efficiency based on the loaded tooth contact analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
In order to solve the problem of Meshing Efficiency of spur-face gear sliding friction, a method for calculating the Meshing Efficiency of Spur-Face gear is proposed based on Elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) theory. Through the Tooth Contact Analysis

Influence of Tooth Profile of Cycloidal Pin of RV Reducer on Meshing Stiffness

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2021
In order to study the influence of the tooth shape parameters of the cycloidal pin on the meshing stiffness, the meshing stiffness model of the cycloidal pinion drive pair is constructed based on Hertz theory.
