Modeling of Color and Degradation of C‐Phycocyanin Extracted From Arthrospira platensis and Chlorogloeopsis HTF

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
A nonlinear kinetic model was developed and successfully implemented, which describes the degradation of the protein C‐phycocyanin depending on temperature and pH value. C‐phycocyanin had been extracted from two different cyanobacteria. In addition to protein degradation, the fading of the typical blue color of this protein was included in the model ...

Comparative Analysis of Mesophilic YqfB-Type Amidohydrolases

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2022
The widespread superfamily of the human activating signal cointegrator homology (ASCH) domain was identified almost 20 years ago; however, the amount of experimental data regarding the biological function of the domain is scarce. With this study, we aimed to determine the putative cellular functions of four hypothetical ASCH domain-containing ...

A Comprehensive Review of the Key Factors Affecting Biogas Production From Anaerobic Digestion of Organic Waste

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
Efficient conversion of organic waste to biogas depends on the coordinated optimization of feedstock composition, pretreatment, operational parameters, reactor design, and microbial community dynamics. This review highlights how these interacting factors improve methane yield and process stability, advancing anaerobic digestion as a practical pathway ...

Surface properties of autoagglutinating mesophilic aeromonads [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1988
The surface characteristics of 24 autoagglutinating (AA+) mesophilic aeromonads were investigated. One group of 16 was found to be highly related serologically by their reactive pattern against O antisera generated against three reference strains.

Waste to Hydrogen: Transforming Food Waste Into Biohythane (Bio‐H2 + Bio‐CH4) in a Two‐Stage Reactor With the Aid of a Metal‐Ion Catalyst

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a two‐stage catalytic bioreactor system that converts real food waste into high‐purity biohydrogen and biohythane. In Stage‐1, an enriched Clostridium thermocellum culture combined with Ni2+─Fe2+ bimetallic catalysis enhances hydrolysis efficiency and hydrogenase activity, resulting in a 77% increase in H2 yield and 75.8% purity

Comparative performance of anaerobic filters at mesophilic and thermophilic temperatures

open access: yes, 1992
During Phase I anaerobic filters were operated at mesophilic and thermophilic temperatures with hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 12, 24, and 48 hours at chemical oxygen demand (COD) loads ranging from 2.75 g/L/day to 49.5 g/L/day (172 to 3090 lb/1000 ...

Ameliorating Shelf Life and Physicochemical Characteristics of UF White Soft Cheese Using Free or Microencapsulated Lb. rhamnosus and Lb. paracasei as a Sustainable Food System

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
This study investigates some practical technological insights that can be used for development and production of UF white soft cheese using free or microencapsulated Lb. rhamnosus and Lb. paracasei. ABSTRACT The present research aimed to ameliorate the shelf life of UF white soft cheese made from buffalo's milk retentate. To achieve this proposal, five
