Pleural cryobiopsy under local anaesthesia enabled definitive diagnosis of malignant pleural mesothelioma despite extensive pleural adhesions. Careful preoperative assessment and precise lesion localisation allowed safe and minimally invasive tissue acquisition in a high‐risk patient.

Three novel malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) cell lines (PUMC‐MESO1, PUMC‐MESO3, and PUMC‐MESO4) were established from patient‐derived pleural effusions. All three cell lines expressed mesothelioma markers (calretinin, WT1, and D2‐40) and showed BAP1 loss of expression.
