Systemic and Local Adiposity in the Bone Marrow Microenvironment Associated With Improved Prognosis in Hodgkin Lymphoma: Imaging and Molecular Analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 3, Page 782-796, 1 August 2026.
Schematic overview of systemic and bone marrow‐specific adiposity in Hodgkin Lymphoma (HL). Body Mass Index was associated with bone marrow (BM) involvement, relapse, and mortality (1). In contrast, increased yellow marrow density was associated with poorer prognosis (2).

Mutations in tumor suppressor p53 and deregulation of cellular metabolism

open access: yes, 2018
Mutation of the p53 gene is the most common genetic alteration among all human cancers. Prevalent p53 missense mutations abrogate its tumor suppressive function and lead to gain-of-function properties that promote cancer cell proliferation, chemoresistance, angiogenesis, migration, invasion, and metastasis.

Oestrogen receptor phosphorylation profiles and in silico PAM50 subtyping reflect sexual dimorphism in breast cancer

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, July 2026.
Abstract Breast cancer (BC) is most prevalent in females but also accounts for <1% of male cancer cases and 0.2% of male cancer‐related deaths. Distribution of histological subtypes, receptor status, and age of diagnosis varies based on sex, and a growing body of evidence supports sex‐specific molecular differences in BC.

Cholesterol‐Lowering Treatment Blocks Epithelial‐Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) Associated Invasiveness and Drug Resistance in Breast and Colorectal Adenocarcinoma Models

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) is a cellular process involved in the invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Deregulated cellular cholesterol is associated with treatment resistance and metastatic potential in cancer cells; however, the link between EMT and cholesterol is unclear.

Therapeutic Potential of Carica papaya (L.) Extract on NRF2/KEAP1 and Apoptotic Pathways in Asbestos‐Induced Lung Toxicity

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Asbestos exposure induced oxidative stress, apoptosis, and lung tissue damage in animal models. Treatment with Carica papaya (500 mg/kg) extract improved antioxidant status, reduced oxidative stress biomarkers, and restored lung architecture. Gene expression analysis showed modulation of NRF2/KEAP1 and apoptotic pathways.
