Haematological, Biochemical and Acid‐Base Changes in Uraemic Dogs Undergoing Intermittent Haemodialysis (2017–2024)

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
This study investigated the laboratory variables of uraemic crisis dogs undergoing intermittent haemodialysis (IHD). The documented laboratory changes support early therapeutic planning. Acid‐base correction and toxin removal highlight the efficacy of IHD, while the progression of anaemia and hypoalbuminaemia requires continued monitoring.

Intergenerational Transmission of Metabolic Changes in Oocytes From Aged Mice

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study shows that oxidative changes in oocytes from aged female mice lead to lipid droplet accumulation and altered energy and retinoid metabolism. These changes persist in embryonic organs, triggering antioxidant responses in lipid‐rich tissues. Remarkably, altered profiles are transmitted across generations, reaching third generation, suggesting ...

Heat‐Not‐Burn Tobacco Aerosols Induce Immune Dysregulation and Barrier Disruption Comparable to Conventional Cigarettes

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 781-795, March 2026.
Comparative analysis between cigarette smokers and HnB users revealed similar inflammatory lung function parameters and immunophenotypic patterns. Cigarette smoke and HnB aerosol had an impact on ECM through divergent downstream pathways. Exposed to Cigarette smoke and HnB aerosol caused comparative TJ weakening in the epithelial barrier.

Transcriptional and functional effects of mavacamten in multiple porcine and human models with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 5, Page 1122-1139, March 2026.
Abstract Background and Purpose Mavacamten (MAVA) is a novel small molecule inhibitor of cardiac myosin, mitigating cardiomyocyte hypercontractility in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM). Despite its recent approval for clinical use, the transcriptional and functional impacts of MAVA remain not well understood.

RB1 inactivation in cutaneous carcinomas

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 88, Issue 4, Page 769-789, March 2026.
Among skin carcinomas, recurrent RB1 inactivation is observed in Merkel cell carcinoma, in a subset of squamous cell carcinoma with bowenoid morphology, in sebaceous carcinoma and in the recently described Wnt/beta‐catenin rosette‐forming carcinoma.
