Metabolic checkpoint of ferroptosis resistance [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2021
The metabolic checkpoint of ferroptosis remains obscure. We find that glucose favors system xc− inhibitor-induced ferroptosis by activating pyruvate oxidation, thereby promoting fatty acid synthesis and subsequent lipid peroxidation.

Metabolic Plasticity in Chemotherapy Resistance [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2020
Resistance of cancer cells to chemotherapy is the first cause of cancer-associated death. Thus, new strategies to deal with the evasion of drug response and to improve clinical outcomes are needed.

Metabolic mechanisms of immunotherapy resistance [PDF]

open access: yesExploration of Targeted Anti-tumor Therapy
Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment, yet its efficacy is frequently compromised by metabolic mechanisms that drive resistance. Understanding how tumor metabolism shapes the immune microenvironment is essential for developing effective ...

Metabolic regulation of antibiotic resistance [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Reviews, 2011
It is generally assumed that antibiotics and resistance determinants are the task forces of a biological warfare in which each resistance determinant counteracts the activity of a specific antibiotic. According to this view, antibiotic resistance might be considered as a specific response to an injury, not necessarily linked to bacterial metabolism ...

Pro-197-Ser Mutation and Cytochrome P450-Mediated Metabolism Conferring Resistance to Flucarbazone-Sodium in Bromus japonicus

open access: yesPlants, 2022
In crop fields, resistance to acetolactate synthase (ALS)-inhibiting herbicides found in many troublesome weed species, including Bromus japonicus Thunb, is a worldwide problem. In particular, the development of herbicide resistance in B.

From Global to Local—New Insights into Features of Pyrethroid Detoxification in Vector Mosquitoes

open access: yesInsects, 2021
The threat of mosquito-borne diseases continues to be a problem for public health in subtropical and tropical regions of the world; in response, there has been increased use of adulticidal insecticides, such as pyrethroids, in human habitation areas over

Investigation of glutathione transferases at the gene regulation level in flufenacet resistant black-grass populations (Alopecurus myosuroides Huds.)

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2022
The herbicide flufenacet, applied in pre-emergence, acts as an inhibitor of the synthesis of very long-chain fatty acids (HRAC group 15) and is an important component in the control of grasses in winter cereals, especially when resistance to other ...

The classification of esterases: an important gene family involved in insecticide resistance - A review

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2012
The use of chemical insecticides continues to play a major role in the control of disease vector populations, which is leading to the global dissemination of insecticide resistance.

Model for metabolic resistance against ALS inhibitors

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2014
Due to herbicide selection pressure metabolic resistance has evolved in many weed species. In this paper we analyse the interaction between the branched chain amino acid (BBC) pathway and detoxifying pathways for herbicide breakdown.

Candidate Genes Involved in Tolerance to Fenoxaprop-P-Ethyl in Rice Induced by Isoxadifen-Ethyl Hydrolysate

open access: yesAgronomy, 2023
The metabolic resistance of plants to herbicides is similar to the herbicide metabolism process accelerated by safeners. The tolerance to fenoxaprop-P-ethyl (FE) is distinct among different varieties of rice in which phytotoxicity forms easily, resulting
