Metabolites are major biological parameters sensed by many cell types in vivo, whether they function as signaling mediators of SC and niche cross talk to regulate tissue regeneration is largely unknown.

Sensitivity of metabolic networks: perturbing metabolite concentrations [PDF]
Sensitivity studies the network response to perturbations. We consider local perturbations of the concentrations of metabolites at an equilibrium. We investigate the responses in the network, both of the metabolite concentrations and of the reaction fluxes. Our approach is purely qualitative, rather than quantitative.

Isoflavones' effects on pharmacokinetic profiles of main iridoids from Gardeniae Fructus in rats
Gardeniae Fructus (GF) and Semen Sojae Praeparatum (SSP) are both medicine food homologies and widely used in Chinese clinical prescriptions together. The research investigated the pharmacokinetics of four iridoids in normal rats and isolfavones-fed rats,

Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Quantification using Deep Learning [PDF]
Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) is an important technique in biomedical research and it has the unique capability to give a non-invasive access to the biochemical content (metabolites) of scanned organs. In the literature, the quantification (the extraction of the potential biomarkers from the MRS signals) involves the resolution of an inverse ...

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

IntLIM: Integration using Linear Models of metabolomics and gene expression data [PDF]
Integration of transcriptomic and metabolomic data improves functional interpretation of disease-related metabolomic phenotypes, and facilitates discovery of putative metabolite biomarkers and gene targets. For this reason, these data are increasingly collected in large cohorts, driving a need for the development of novel methods for their integration.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.
