Molecular biomarkers and toxic consequences of impact by organic pollution in aquatic organisms [PDF]
Organic contaminants are readily bioaccumulated by aquatic organisms. Exposure to and toxic effects of contaminants can be measured in terms of the biochemical responses of the organisms (i.e. molecular biomarkers).

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

The evaluation of metabolizable energy in traditional Korean food for protein sources
AbstractBackgroundThe validity of energy data in the composition table of Korean food has been in question due to possible differences in its chemical composition from that of western food. Traditional Korean food involves a diverse range of food ingredients so there has been considerable doubt regarding the accuracy of the energy level derived from ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Metabolizable Energy Values of Treated Wheat Bran and Wheat Millrun Protein Concentrate
Abstract Using broiler chicks, the nitrogen corrected metabolizable energy (ME) was determined for wheat bran, pelleted wheat bran, and three pelleted wheat brans to which either NaOH, NH4OH, or HCl were added prior to pelleting, and wheat bran treated with a commercial cellulolytic enzyme concentrate (Pectinol 41P).

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the relationship between purine derivatives (PD) excretion in total collection or spot sampling of urine and metabolizable energy (ME) and metabolizable protein (MP) of dairy cattle. Twenty-seven dairy cows were selected to investigate the changes of PD, creatinine (C), and purine derivative/creatinine ...
