Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

PENGARUH BERBAGAI ENKAPSULAN DALAM PROSES ENKAPSULASI ASAM SITRAT SEBAGAIACIDIFIER DALAM PAKAN AYAM PEDAGING TERHADAP KECERNAAN PROTEIN DAN ENERGI MET ABOLIS

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Peternakan, 2009
The aim of this research was to examine the influence of several encapsulants in encapsulating citric acid used as acidifier on protein digestibility and metabolizable energy in broilers.

Dietary protein to starch metabolizable energy ratios alter growth performance and gastrointestinal microbiota of calves

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2023
The diet structure is very important for the growth and development of calves. This study aimed to investigate the effects of dietary protein-to-starch metabolizable energy ratios (DPSRs) on growth performance, blood index, and gastrointestinal microbiota of calves.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Использование обменной энергии у бычков в период выращивания при разном уровне обменного протеина в рационе

open access: yesAgricultural Science, 2019
Experimental investigations carried out using Kholmogory bulls, kept under vivarium conditions, have been aimed to study the effect of different levels of metabolizable protein in the diet on the use intensity of metabolizable energy.

Real‐time assay of ribonucleotide reductase activity with a fluorescent RNA aptamer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ribonucleotide reductases (RNR) synthesize DNA building blocks de novo, making them crucial in DNA replication and drug targeting. FLARE introduces the first single‐tube real‐time coupled RNR assay, which enables isothermal tracking of RNR activity at nanomolar enzyme levels and allows the reconstruction of allosteric regulatory patterns and rapid ...

Modelling net energy of commercial cat diets.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Net energy accounts for the proportion of energy expenditure attributed to the digestion, metabolism, and absorption of ingested food. Currently, there are no models available to predict net energy density of food for domestic cats.

Variation in the apparent faecal digestibility of macronutrients and urinary energy excretion for three diets varying in fat and fibre content-- assessment of the Atwater factors and related energy conversion factors : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Nutritional Science at Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background: Current systems to estimate dietary metabolisable energy (ME), often based on Atwater factors, assume that diet ME can be accurately predicted based on a few chemical components and that the ME of components is constant across foods ...
