Resistance Rapid Heating of Aluminum Coatings in an Extreme High Vacuum–Adequate Atmosphere for Hot Stamping

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Interphase electron redistribution induced by confined transformation in PtPdBiSn nanoplates for efficient ethanol oxidation electrocatalysis

open access: yesNature Communications
Noble metal-based core/shell catalysts show great promise for ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) through regulated dehydrogenation or bond-breaking, yet their performance remains constrained by limited interphase electron interactions accessible through ...

Interaction of MgO Recyclate‐Based Cermet Anode With KF‐AlF3‐Al2O3 at 800°C During Laboratory Scale Aluminum Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A carbon‐free, as‐sintered MgO–steel cermet anode, fabricated via cold isostatic pressing using MgO–C refractory recyclate, was evaluated under laboratory‐scale K‐cryolite electrolysis at 800°C. Operation at this reduced temperature, combined with the electrolyte's limited electrical conductivity, led to an increase in cell voltage.

Metals and metallurgy in Phoenician Abdera. Isotopic data for the provenance and exchange of raw material

open access: yesArchivo Español de Arqueología, 2015
The first results of isotopic analyses are presented from a selection of samples of a galena nodule, lead droplets and copper-based objects from the Phoenician settlement of Abdera (Adra, Almería). According to the lead isotope data, there are two different areas of mineral supply, which can be located at the Sierra de Gádor and the Cuenca de Vera ...
