Metathesis

open access: yes, 2007
A review. The scope of the reaction, theory and industrial application of alkene metathesis, including initiators and catalysts are described. Metathesis polymn. to polyolefins, alkyne metathesis, and ene-yne metathesis are also considered.

Olefin Metathesis and Metathesis Polymerization

open access: yes, 1997
Olefin Metathesis by K. J. Ivin was published in 1983. Olefin Metathesis and Metathesis Polymerization provides a broad, up-to-date account of the subject from its beginnings around 1960 to the latest applications in organic synthesis.

Organocatalyzed Fluoride Metathesis [PDF]

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2020
A new organocatalyzed fluoride metathesis reaction between fluoroarenes and carbonyl derivatives is reported. The reaction exchanges fluoride (F-) and alternate nucleophiles (OAc-, OCO2R-, SR-, Cl-, CN-, NCS-). The approach provides a conceptually novel route to manipulate the fluorine content of organic molecules.

Supported Catalysts Useful in Ring-Closing Metathesis, Cross Metathesis, and Ring-Opening Metathesis Polymerization [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2016
Ruthenium and molybdenum catalysts are widely used in synthesis of both small molecules and macromolecules. While major developments have led to new increasingly active catalysts that have high functional group compatibility and stereoselectivity, catalyst/product separation, catalyst recycling, and/or catalyst residue/product separation remain an ...

Ambivalent Role of Rotamers in Cyclic(alkyl)(amino)carbene Ruthenium Complexes for Enantioselective Ring-Opening Cross-Metathesis

open access: yes, 2023
The development of highly efficient enantioselective olefin metathesis catalysts is a significant challenge. Using optically pure chiral cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene (ChiCAAC) ligands combined with preliminary mechanistic insights and density functional ...

Alkene Metathesis Catalysis: A Key for Transformations of Unsaturated Plant Oils and Renewable Derivatives

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2016
This account presents the importance of ruthenium-catalysed alkene cross-metathesis for the catalytic transformations of biomass derivatives into useful intermediates, especially those developed by the authors in the Rennes (France) catalysis team in ...

Highly active alkyne metathesis catalysts operating under open air condition

open access: yesNature Communications, 2021
Alkyne metathesis catalysts usually suffer from high moisture/air sensitivity, which limit their wide applicability. Here, the authors report efficient alkyne metathesis catalysts that can operate under open-air conditions with a broad functional group ...
