Anomalies in the light curves of meteors resulting from fragmentation
In one of a series of papers on the physical theory of meteors, Jacchia1 has pointed out that while the observed decelerations and light curves of bright meteors are in good agreement with the simple ballistic theory, the fainter meteors photographed ...

The Gender of Fossil Fuels: Oil and Domestic Perils in Mandate Palestine
ABSTRACT This article explores the gender dynamics behind the rise of kerosene – an oil derivative – as the main domestic fuel in Mandate Palestine. It argues that these dynamics were constitutive in determining who began to use oil, where and for what purposes, in turn demonstrating that women in Palestine were the promoters and targets of a campaign ...

Wake in faint television meteors
The two component dustball model was used in numerical lag computation. Detached grain lag is typically less than 2 km, with expected wakes of a few hundred meters. True wake in television meteors is masked by apparent wake due to the combined effects of

This study provides the first isotopic analysis of Oligocene mammals from Quebrada Fiera, Mendoza, Argentina, filling a major gap in South American paleontology. It reveals a latitudinal gradient in aridity due to the Andean rain shadow and highlights the role of (semi)permanent water bodies in sustaining diverse herbivore communities. Additionally, it

Meteor stream identification: a new approach. Application to 3675 radio meteors
The new criterion DN for meteoroid streams identification, based on variables directly linked to observations, was applied to a set of radio meteors observed in Adelaide. 28 streams, combinning 28% of the 3675 orbits have been detected.
