Image-orthicon spectra of Geminids in 1969 [PDF]
The spectra of 25 meteors, recorded with an image orthicon technique in December 1969, are studied in relation to similar records made in August of the same year.

Measuring the meteoroid environments of the planets with meteor detectors on Earth
We describe how meteors recorded at the Earth can be used to partly reconstruct the meteoroid environments of the planets if a large sample (i.e. millions of orbits at a minimum) is available.

Stable Isotope Analysis as a Tool to Prevent Illicit Wildlife Trade of Songbirds in Brazil
Feather isotopes provide clear differences between wild and captive songbirds in Brazil. Combining multiple isotopes improved classification accuracy and revealed individuals falsely declared as captive‐bred. These results demonstrate the potential of isotope analysis to detect wildlife laundering in the bird trade.

An Upper Limit on the Interstellar Meteoroid Flux at Video Sizes from the Global Meteor Network
Material arriving at our solar system from the Galaxy may be detected on Earth in the form of meteors ablating in our atmosphere. Here, we report on a search for interstellar meteors within the highest-quality events in the Global Meteor Network (GMN ...

Mini-EUSO on Board the International Space Station: Mission Status and Results
The telescope Mini-EUSO has been observing, since 2019, the Earth in the ultraviolet band (290–430 nm) through a nadir-facing UV-transparent window in the Russian Zvezda module of the International Space Station. The instrument has a square field of view

Activity of the Lyrid meteor stream [PDF]
The activity of the Lyrid meteor stream is in most years fairly low with a visual rate at maximum (21-22 April) of 5-10 meteors per hour. Short bursts of very high Lyrid activity, with visual hourly rates of 100 or more, have sometimes been reported ...

Investigating relationships among strontium, barium, and seasonality in wild baboons
Abstract Geochemical profiles of Australopithecus africanus and baboon teeth show fluctuating trace elements, possibly reflecting seasonal diets. Here we use laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometric measurements of calcium‐normalized strontium and barium ratios (Sr/Ca and Ba/Ca) and ion microprobe analyses of oxygen isotopes (δ18O ...

Spectral analysis of four meteors [PDF]
Four meteor spectra are analyzed for chemical composition and radiative processes. The chemical compositions of the Taurid, Geminid, and Perseid meteors were found to be similar to that of a typical stony meteorite.
