Operational Parameters of a Diesel Engine Running on Diesel–Rapeseed Oil–Methanol–Iso-Butanol Blends
This contribution focuses on utilizing blended biofuels of rapeseed oil and methanol with diesel. Rapeseed is one of the most cultivated energy crops in Europe, and its purpose in the blends is to increase the bio-content in test fuels.

Engineering Escherichia coli for methanol conversion
Methylotrophic bacteria utilize methanol and other reduced one-carbon compounds as their sole source of carbon and energy. For this purpose, these bacteria evolved a number of specialized enzymes and pathways. Here, we used a synthetic biology approach to select and introduce a set of "methylotrophy genes" into Escherichia coli based on in silico ...

The mathanol oxidation reaction on the catalysts of Pt, Pd, Rh, Ir and Cu has been investigated to select the suitable catalysts for the purification of methanol engine exhaust gases. On all of these catalysts, the presence of NO showed an inhibitory effect on the methanol oxidation reaction and caused the formation of formaldehyde.

Abnormal combustion - methanol versus gasoline [PDF]
Includes bibliographical references. The maximum efficiency of conventional gasoline engines is largely determined by the compression ratio, and this is limited by the onset of kno8k. The maximum cylinder size is similarly constrained.

Effects of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rates on emission characteristics of ethanol and methanol diesel blended fuels [PDF]
The introduction of ever more stringent diesel emission standards is associated with a reduction in greenhouse gases. These limitations push many researchers working in this field to look for alternative solutions with the aim of lower greenhouse gas ...

Effect of Methanol Injector Bore Arrangement on Combustion and Emissions in Dual-Fuel Engines
The physical and chemical properties of methanol differ significantly from those of conventional diesel, and its injection strategy plays a critical role in engine performance. In this study, a three-dimensional simulation model of a methanol–diesel dual-
