Multi-Aperture-Based Probabilistic Noise Reduction of Random Telegraph Signal Noise and Photon Shot Noise in Semi-Photon-Counting Complementary-Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor Image Sensor

open access: yesSensors, 2018
A probabilistic method to remove the random telegraph signal (RTS) noise and to increase the signal level is proposed, and was verified by simulation based on measured real sensor noise.

Complexity of the method of averaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
summary:The general method of averaging for the superapproximation of an arbitrary partial derivative of a smooth function in a vertex $a$ of a simplicial triangulation $\mathcal T$ of a bounded polytopic domain in $\Re^d$ for any $d\geq 2$ is described ...

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

An investigation of nonlinear xenon oscillation by method of averaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
A nonlinear analysis of xenon-temperature controlled nuclear reactor dynamics is presented. The set of equations in question belongs to a general class of rate equations with quadratic nonlinearities. Boundedness of the solutions is examined.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Rotation Invariant Non-Local Means for Noise Reduction in Magnetic Resonance Images

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2018
Averaging of multiple scans is often used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). However, image averaging often results in movement-induced blurs of the edges and tissue details. A matched and weighted averaging (

Improving the CPI’s Age-Bias Adjustment: Leverage, Disaggregation and Model Averaging [PDF]

open access: yes
As a rental unit ages, its quality typically falls; a failure to correct for this would result in downward bias in the CPI. We investigate the BLS age bias imputation and explore two potential categories of error: approximations related to the ...

The Method of Averaging for Euler's Equations of Rigid Body Motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We formulate the method of averaging for perturbations of Euler's equations of rotational motion. Euler's equations are three strongly nonlinear coupled differential equations that can be viewed as a three dimensional oscillator.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
