Overcoming Recalcitrance: A Review of Regeneration Methods and Challenges in Roses

open access: yesPlants
Roses (Rosa spp.) are among the most economically and ornamentally important floricultural crops worldwide, yet their improvement is constrained by inefficient breeding methods.

METHODS FOR OVERCOMING SEED DORMANCY AND FEATURES OF IRIS CULTIVATION IN IN VITRO CONDITIONS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений. Поволжский регион: Естественные науки, 2020
Background. The state of organic seed dormancy is an important adaptation mechanism for the conservation of the species. However, the presence of deep dormancy makes the cultivation of many plants difficult. The development of methods and technologies

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Overcoming Data Imbalance in Risk Management: A Comparative Study of Sampling Methods

open access: yesJurnal Teknik Industri: Jurnal Hasil Penelitian dan Karya Ilmiah dalam Bidang Teknik Industri
Data imbalance is a significant challenge in risk management, especially in classification tasks where critical events—such as loan defaults, employee attrition, or company bankruptcy—occur less frequently than normal cases.

Overcoming the Challenge of Legacy Learning Methods [PDF]

open access: yesConnections: The Quarterly Journal, 2012
Recognizing the role of the leader points to the importance of how leaders are trained and developed so that they are capable of helping their institutions maintain the values of their organizations. This was found to be a concern of the defense and security leaders of the newly developed independent sovereign states of the USSR.

Structure‐forward targeting of claudins with synthetic binders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Claudins form the paracellular barriers between epithelial and endothelial tissues at tight junctions and are targets for molecular binders with the goal of modulating barrier permeability. Claudin‐binding molecules are relevant in drug delivery or in altering claudin interactions with disease‐causing proteins.

Synergistic perspectives—How single‐molecule biophysics complement biochemical understanding

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how ensemble biochemistry and single‐molecule approaches are complementary, outline commonly used single‐molecule techniques, and illustrate their relevance through two representative case studies: chromatin organization by SMC complexes and pathway choice during DNA double‐strand break repair.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
