Learning parameterized quantum circuits with quantum gradient

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information
Parameterized quantum circuits (PQCs) are crucial for quantum machine learning and circuit synthesis, enabling the practical implementation of complex quantum tasks. However, PQC learning has been largely confined to classical optimization methods, which

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Investigation of left ventricular changes according to valve type in patients with surgical replacement due to isolated aortic stenosis

open access: yes, 2023
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate postoperative left ventricular changes [left ventricular mass (LVM), left ventricular mass index (LVMI), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDD), left ventricular end-systolic diameter (LVESD ...

Wasserstein GAN for moving differential privacy protection

open access: yesScientific Reports
Training machine learning models often requires large datasets, but using sensitive data for training poses risks of privacy leakage. Differentially private generative models can synthesize simulated data to prevent privacy breaches.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Experimental and theoretical studies on (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(2-methoxybenzylidene)cyclopentanone: Structural, electrochemical, spectroscopic features, solid-state interactions, molecular docking and adsorption studies onto 2D carbon nanomaterials

open access: yesMacedonian Journal of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2023
A monocarbonyl analog of curcumin, (2E,5E)-2,5-bis(2-methoxybenzylidene)-cyclopentanone (B2MBCP), was prepared and characterized via spectroscopic methods (NMR, UV-Vis, FT-IR, and MS).

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
