Electrochemical Hydrogenation of Alpha Methyl Styrene to Cumene

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2020
A new hydrogenation process for atmospheric pressure conversion of alpha methyl styrene (AMS) to cumene is described. Formate ion is provided as a proton transfer agent in the reaction which involves AMS and water in the presence of a palladium catalyst.

A Novel NADP-Dependent Formate Dehydrogenase From the Hyperthermophilic Archaeon Thermococcus onnurineus NA1

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
The genome of the hyperthermophilic archaeon Thermococcus onnurineus NA1 contains three copies of the formate dehydrogenase (FDH) gene, fdh1, fdh2, and fdh3.

The millimeter and submillimeter laboratory spectrum of methyl formate in its ground symmetric torsional state [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Over 200 rotational lines of methyl formate in its ground (v-t = 0), symmetric (A) torsional state have been measured in the frequency range 140-550 GHz.

Formation of Methyl Mercury by Bacteria [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 1975
Twenty-three Hg 2+ resistant cultures were isolated from sediment of the Savannah River in Georgia; of these, 14 were gram-negative short rods belonging to the genera Escherichia and Enterobacter , six were gram-positive cocci (three Staphylococcus

TIMASSS : The IRAS16293-2422 Millimeter And Submillimeter Spectral Survey: Tentative Detection of Deuterated Methyl Formate (DCOOCH3) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
High deuterium fractionation is observed in various types of environment such as prestellar cores, hot cores and hot corinos. It has proven to be an efficient probe to study the physical and chemical conditions of these environments.

DNA methylation, nucleosome formation and positioning [PDF]

open access: yesBriefings in Functional Genomics and Proteomics, 2005
Recent mapping of nucleosome positioning on several long gene regions subject to DNA methylation has identified instances of nucleosome repositioning by this base modification. The evidence for an effect of CpG methylation on nucleosome formation and positioning in chromatin is reviewed here in the context of the complex sequence-structure requirements

Formate Excretion in Urine of Rats Fed Dimethylaminoazobenzene-rich Diets: The Possibility of Formate Formation from D-Lactate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This experiment was carried out to evaluate the possibility of degradation of d-lactate into formate and acetaldehyde. In order to induce hyperproduction of d-lactate in rats.

Coilin Methylation Regulates Nuclear Body Formation [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopmental Cell, 2002
Cajal bodies (CBs) are nuclear suborganelles involved in biogenesis of small RNAs. Twin structures, called gems, contain high concentrations of the survival motor neurons (SMN) protein complex. CBs and gems often colocalize, and communication between these subdomains is mediated by coilin, the CB marker.

Energy-Conserving Enzyme Systems Active During Syntrophic Acetate Oxidation in the Thermophilic Bacterium Thermacetogenium phaeum

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
The thermophilic acetogen Thermacetogenium phaeum uses the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway (WLP) in both directions, either for the production of acetate from various compounds or for the oxidation of acetate in syntrophic cooperation with methanogens.

DNA Methylation in Memory Formation [PDF]

open access: yesThe Neuroscientist, 2015
The establishment of synaptic plasticity and long-term memory requires lasting cellular and molecular modifications that, as a whole, must endure despite the rapid turnover of their constituent parts. Such a molecular feat must be mediated by a stable, self-perpetuating, cellular information storage mechanism.
