Interconversion between formate and hydrogen carbonate by tungsten-containing formate dehydrogenase-catalyzed mediated bioelectrocatalysis

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research, 2015
We have focused on the catalytic properties of tungsten-containing formate dehydrogenase (FoDH1) from Methylobacterium extorquens AM1 to construct a bioelectrochemical interconversion system between formate (HCOO−) and hydrogen carbonate (HCO3−).

Laboratory and tentative interstellar detection of trans-methyl formate using the publicly available Green Bank Telescope PRIMOS survey

open access: yes, 2012
The rotational spectrum of the higher-energy trans conformational isomer of methyl formate has been assigned for the first time using several pulsed-jet Fourier transform microwave spectrometers in the 6-60 GHz frequency range. This species has also been

The census of interstellar complex organic molecules in the Class I hot corino of SVS13-A [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present the first census of the interstellar Complex Organic Molecules (iCOMs) in the low-mass Class I protostar SVS13-A, obtained by analysing data from the IRAM-30m Large Project ASAI (Astrochemical Surveys At IRAM).

On the formation of deuterated methyl formate in hot corinos

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2021
ABSTRACT Methyl formate, HCOOCH3, and many of its isotopologues have been detected in astrophysical regions with considerable abundances. However, the recipe for the formation of this molecule and its isotopologues is not yet known.

ALMA Observations of Ethyl Formate toward Orion KL

open access: yes, 2018
Orion KL is one of the prime templates of astrochemical and prebiotic chemical studies. We wish to explore more organic molecules with increasing complexity in this region.

An efficient ZnO/AC catalyst for selective decomposition of methyl formate to methanol and CO

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2023
The selective catalytic decomposition of methyl formate (MF) to methanol (MeOH) and high-purity carbon monoxide (CO) can be achieved by developing efficient alkaline catalysts.

Glycine decarboxylase deficiency causes neural tube defects and features of non-ketotic hyperglycinemia in mice. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Glycine decarboxylase (GLDC) acts in the glycine cleavage system to decarboxylate glycine and transfer a one-carbon unit into folate one-carbon metabolism. GLDC mutations cause a rare recessive disease non-ketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH).

A Study of Micronucleus Induction with Methyl Formate and 2-Methylbutane in Bone Marrow Cells of Male ICR Mice

open access: yesSafety and Health at Work, 2010
Objectives: We investigated the genotoxicity of two chemicals, methyl formate and 2-methylbutane, using male ICR mice bone marrow cells for the screening of micronucleus induction.

DNA methylation analysis using metal complex formation [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Symposium Series, 2007
Analysis of the cytosine methylation status of a gene is very important for understanding the expression mechanism of genetic information. However, to distinguish 5-methylcytosine (M) from C, i.e., to detect the existence of only one methyl group in a long DNA strand, is not easy.

Matrix-Formation Dynamics Dictate Methyl Nitrite Conformer Abundance

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2023
Methyl nitrite has two stable conformational isomers resulting from rotation about the primary C-O-N-O dihedral angle: cis-CH3ONO and trans-CH3ONO, with cis being more stable by ~5 kJ/mol. The barrier to rotational interconversion (~45 kJ/mol) is too large for isomerization to occur under ambient conditions.
