Phase behavior of methylcellulose-poly(acrylic acid) blends and preparation of related hydrophilic films

open access: yes, 2003
The phase behavior of methylcellulose-poly(acrylic acid) mixtures was studied in aqueous solution. It was shown that the complexation between the two polymers decreases considerably the cloud-point of methylcellulose.

Investigating CD8 T Cell Exhaustion in Chronic LCMV Infection by Flow Cytometry

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract CD8 T cells and the process of T cell exhaustion are central topics in both basic immunology and translational research, including clinical applications. Here, we provide a comprehensive, step‐by‐step guide to investigate CD8 T cells in murine in vivo lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV) infection models.

Supramolecular Polymer‐Surfactant Co‐Assemblies for Multivalent HSV‐1 Inhibition

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 39, 21 September 2026.
Non‐covalent co‐assembly of BTA with antiviral surfactants produces ratio‐dependent morphologies. Fibrous supramolecular polymers exhibit superior HSV‐1 inhibition, revealing multivalent fiber‐virus interactions and highlighting supramolecular co‐assemblies as a powerful strategy for functional biomedical nanomaterials with demonstrated tunable ...

Topical Anesthetics Effectiveness in Management of Orthodontic Pain: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Orthodontic treatment can be associated with pain, particularly during separator placement, appliance insertion, or activation. Topical anesthetics may offer a simple, locally applied alternative to systemic analgesics, but their effectiveness remains uncertain.

Modification of Chitosan–Methylcellulose Composite Films with meso-Tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin

open access: yes, 2016
Polysaccharide films containing chitosan, methylcellulose, and a mixture of these polysaccharides in various ratios were prepared and modified with meso-tetrakis(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphyrin in an aqueous medium at pH 7. The modified films were compared

Climate Driven Water Table Changes and Their Influence on Liquefaction Response of Integral Bridges

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 13, Page 3285-3301, 25 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Integral abutment bridges (IABs) eliminate bearings and joints but transfer seismic demand directly into the surrounding soil, making their response highly sensitive to groundwater conditions and soil–structure interaction. This study presents a 60 g centrifuge testing programme on single‐span IABs designed to isolate the influence of water ...

Review on Gelling and Foaming Agents in Food: Mechanism and Applications

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
A comprehensive Graphical Abstract to visualize how different food additives act as gelling and foaming agents. It emphasizes their shared origin as hydrocolloids or proteins but distinct operational mechanisms that transform food materials. The diagram provides a clear path from molecular structure and interaction principles to the specific macro ...
