Modified Manual Therapeutic Plasma Exchange Technique as a Successful Treatment for Postattenuation Neurological Signs (PANS) in a Dog

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate and describe the therapeutic potential of manual plasma exchange for controlling seizures and neurologic dysfunction in a dog with postattenuation neurologic signs (PANS). Case Summary A 4‐year‐old neutered female Yorkshire Terrier was initially diagnosed using computed tomography with a congenital extrahepatic ...

Beat‐to‐beat variability of ventricular repolarization reveals sex‐specific instability and proarrhythmic risk

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend A mechanistic framework linking sex‐dependent dynamical instability to proarrhythmic risk. Sex‐specific human ventricular models show that upstream modulators, including biological sex, hormones, drugs and heart disease, promote steeper APD restitution in female than male and enhance dynamical instability.

The Effects of Remote Ischemic Preconditioning on the Inflammatory Cytokine Response to Free Flap Head and Neck Reconstruction: A Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesMicrosurgery, Volume 46, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Ischemia–reperfusion injury due to vascular pedicle occlusion is one of the most common causes of free flap failure in head and neck cancer reconstruction. Remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) has been proposed as an experimental, non‐invasive intervention to attenuate flap ischemia–reperfusion injury; however, the tissue ...

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Protocol in Transoral Robotic Surgery: A Case–Control Study

open access: yesClinical Otolaryngology, Volume 51, Issue 5, Page 752-760, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction ‘Enhanced Recovery After Surgery’ (ERAS) protocols have been developed for multiple surgical procedures with favourable outcome measures including Length of Stay (LoS). Trans‐Oral Robotic Surgery (TORS) has similarly facilitated earlier patient discharges, particularly in comparison to open head and neck surgical techniques. There

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 44, 7 August 2026.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.
