Vaccines with the MF59 Adjuvant Do Not Stimulate Antibody Responses against Squalene [PDF]

open access: yesClinical and Vaccine Immunology, 2006
ABSTRACT Squalene is a naturally occurring oil which has been used in the development of vaccine adjuvants, such as the oil-in-water emulsion MF59. In past years, by use of noncontrolled and nonvalidated assays, a claim was made that antisqualene antibodies were detectable in the sera of individuals with the so-called Gulf War syndrome. Using

The Next Disease X‐ H5N6 Avian Influenza's Evolving Threat to Human Health and Chances of Future Global Outbreak: A Narrative Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 8, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims H5N6 avian influenza has been a concern that can initiate the next global pandemic (called Disease X). Most infections have been among those in Asia, especially China, since the 2014 first human case. With a fatality rate of 61%, the virus is very deadly, even though the total number of human cases is relatively low.

A caprine herpesvirus 1 vaccine adjuvanted with MF59™ protects against vaginal infection and interferes with the establishment of latency in goats.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The immunogenicity and the efficacy of a beta-propiolactone-inactivated caprine herpesvirus 1 (CpHV-1) vaccine adjuvanted with MF59™ were tested in goats.

Flagellins as Vaccine Adjuvants and Cancer Immunotherapy: Recent Advances and Future Prospects

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 176, Issue 3, Page 277-303, November 2025.
The figure depicts the role of flagellin in immune cells. Flagellin interacts with TLR5, resulting in the formation of homodimers and the recruitment of MyD88, which activates the IκB and MAPK signalling pathways. This results in the activation of NF‐κB and AP‐1, producing TNF‐α, IL‐6, IL‐8, and IL‐12.

Distant metastases of melanoma exhibit varying extent of intrapatient proteogenomic heterogeneity

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
Comprehensive proteogenomic profiling of post mortem melanoma metastases from patients with multiple lesions reveals the protein‐level mutation landscape and dominant phenotypes of distant metastases. The study uncovers varying levels of intrapatient heterogeneity, potentially associated with survival and therapeutic response.

Effectiveness of A(H1N1)pdm09 influenza vaccine in adults recommended for annual influenza vaccination. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
INTRODUCTION: Because of variability in published A(H1N1)pdm09 influenza vaccine effectiveness estimates, we conducted a study in the adults belonging to the risk groups to assess the A(H1N1)pdm09 MF59-adjuvanted influenza vaccine effectiveness. METHODS:
