[Studies on the growth rate of spontaneous mammary carcinomas in C3H inbred mice (author's transl)].

Archiv fur Geschwulstforschung, 1976
The incidence of spontaneous mammary carcinomas was determined in the C3H mouse inbred colony reared in Berlin-Buch over the past three years. Only female animals reaching a lifespan of no less than 170 days, corresponding to the longevity of the shortest lived animal in which a mammary carcinoma developed, were included in the study.

T‐cell epitope‐dependent immune response in inbred (C57BL/6J, SJL/J, and C3H/HeN) and transgenic P301S and Tg2576 mice

Journal of Peptide Science, 2013
Alzheimer's disease is characterized by two pathological hallmarks, the intracellular deposition of hyperphosphorylated Tau protein and the extracellular deposition of Aβ1–40/42, both being targets for immunotherapy. This study evaluates the immunogenic properties of three AD‐specific B‐cell epitopes (Tau229–237[pT231/pS235], pyroGluAβ3–8, and Aβ37/38 ...

Chronic polyarthritis in inbred C3H/He mice after systemic administration of allogeneic thymocytes.

The Journal of rheumatology, 1982
Chronic polyarthritis was produced in inbred C3H/He mice after intraperitoneal (ip) administration of allogeneic thymocytes of inbred line BALB/c mice. The polyarthritis persisted more than 18 months without additional ip treatment. Histologically, synovial cell hyperplasia, granulation tissue formation, and inflammatory cell infiltration were seen ...

Deficiencies in extrusion of the second polar body due to high calcium concentrations duringin vitrofertilization in inbred C3H/He mice

Zygote, 2015
SummarySuccessfulin vitrofertilization (IVF) of all inbred strains of laboratory mice has not yet been accomplished. We have previously shown that a high calcium concentration improved IVF in various inbred mice. However, we also found that in cumulus-free ova of C3H/He mice such IVF conditions significantly increased the deficiency of extrusion of the

GENETIC DIFFERENCES IN THE EFFECTS OF VOLUNTARY ETHANOL CONSUMPTION ON BRAIN MONOAMINE LEVELS IN INBRED STRAINS OF MICE, C57BL/6J, C3H/He AND DBA/2Cr

Alcohol and Alcoholism, 1989
This study was carried out to determine whether concentrations of the brain monoamines noradrenaline (NA), dopamine (DA), and 5-hydroxytryptamine or serotonin (5-HT) are different in three inbred strains of mice (C57BL/6J, C3H/He and DBA/2Cr) known to differ in their preference to alcohol, when they were given a free choice of 10% (v/v) ethanol and tap

The effect of bromocriptine on the lactotroph cells in two inbred strains of mice C3H/Sy and AKR/Sy.

European journal of cancer & clinical oncology, 1988
This paper deals with the effect of bromocriptine on the morphology and the number of lactotrophs in two inbred strains of mice, one with a high and the other with a low mammary cancer incidence. Bromocriptine decreases the number of lactotrophs in C3H mice while their number in AKR is not affected. These observations suggest that bromocriptine affects

Effects of selective dopamine D1-like and D2-like agonists on prepulse inhibition of startle in inbred C3H/HeJ, SPRET/EiJ, and CAST/EiJ mice

Psychopharmacology, 2006
Prepulse inhibition (PPI) and locomotor activity have been used to investigate the effects of antipsychotic and stimulant drugs and their underlying dopaminergic mechanisms. Whereas D2-like agonists consistently decreased PPI and increased locomotion in rats in previous studies, we recently reported that these hallmark behavioral effects were not ...

Effects of temporary selenium supplementation on the genesis of spontaneous mammary tumors in inbred female C3H/St mice

Carcinogenesis, 1980
Female inbred C3H/St mice infected with the Bittner Milk Particle, develop mammary adenocarcinoma with 27% incidence if maintained on a Torula Yeast diet supplemented with 1 ppm of selenium (organically bound, in yeast). Animals switched from the 1 ppm Se diet to a diet containing only 0.15 ppm Se after reaching the age of 13.8 months develop mammary ...

Morphologic analysis of enteric lesions in conventional and streptomycin-treated inbred C3H/HeN mice infected with Serpulina (Treponema) hyodysenteriae.

Laboratory animal science, 1992
Oral administration of streptomycin is known to enhance the susceptibility of mice to enteric pathogens by altering the indigenous flora. We examined the effect of oral streptomycin treatment on the susceptibility of inbred C3H/HeN mice to infection with Serpulina (Treponema) hyodysenteriae.
