Fludarabine as a cost-effective adjuvant to enhance engraftment of human normal and malignant hematopoiesis in immunodeficient mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
There is still an unmet need for xenotransplantation models that efficiently recapitulate normal and malignant human hematopoiesis. Indeed, there are a number of strategies to generate humanized mice and specific protocols, including techniques to ...

Ku70 Is Required for Late B Cell Development and Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain Class Switching [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Immunoglobulin (Ig) heavy chain (HC) class switch recombination (CSR) is a late B cell process that involves intrachromosomal DNA rearrangement.

Regulated progression of B lymphocyte differentiation from cultured fetal liver. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
Lymphoid fetal liver cultures (LFLC) are long-term, nontransformed cultures of early B lymphoid lineage cells which appear developmentally blocked at the pre-B stage in vitro.

Rescue of Fertility in Homozygous Mice for the Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Transgene by the Transplantation of Mouse Hepatocytes

open access: yesCell Transplantation, 2008
Development of the urokinase plasminogen activator/SCID (uPA/SCID) transgenic mouse model has opened new perspectives for the study of different biological mechanisms such as liver regeneration, stem cell differentiation, and human hepatic pathogens.

Resveratrol given intraperitoneally does not inhibit the growth of high-risk t(4;11) acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells in a NOD/SCID mouse model. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The efficacy of resveratrol as a preventive agent against the growth of t(4;11) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) was evaluated in NOD.CB17-Prkdcscid/J mice engrafted with the human t(4;11) ALL SEM cell line.

Fracture Healing Is Delayed in Immunodeficient NOD/scid‑IL2Rγcnull Mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Following bone fracture, the repair process starts with an inflammatory reaction at the fracture site. Fracture healing is disturbed when the initial inflammation is increased or prolonged, whereby, a balanced inflammatory response is anticipated to be ...

A murine intestinal intraepithelial NKp46-negative innate lymphoid cell population characterized by group 1 properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The Ly49E receptor is preferentially expressed on murine innate-like lymphocytes, such as epidermal V gamma 3 T cells, intestinal intraepithelial CD8 alpha alpha(+) T lymphocytes, and CD49a(+) liver natural killer (NK) cells.

Hantavirus Infection in SCID Mice.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 1997
Severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice were inoculated with Hantaan virus strain 76-118 (HTN) or Seoul virus strain SR-11 (SR) of hantaviruses. Susceptibility of SCID mice was compared with those of immunocompetent adult mice, newborn mice and nude mice. SCID mice inoculated with HTN or SR died 32 to 35 days after infection.

Differential post-surgical metastasis and survival in SCID, NOD-SCID and NOD-SCID-IL-2Rγ(null) mice with parental and subline variants of human breast cancer: implications for host defense mechanisms regulating metastasis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
We compare for the first time, the metastatic aggressiveness of the parental MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line and two luciferase-tagged in vivo-derived and selected pro-metastatic variants (LM2-4/luc⁺ and 164/8-1B/luc⁺ in SCID, NOD-SCID and NOD-SCID-IL-
